We are not closing out a month. We are stepping into a season.
And that feels different to me. It always has.
I am not a summer person. I am not a winter person either, if I am being completely honest. But fall and spring? I will take those every single time. There is something about a transition season that just does it for me. The air changes. The light changes. Everything feels like it is on the edge of becoming something.
Maybe that is why I ended up doing the work I do. I have always loved the in-between more than the arrival.
Spring brings all those R words we love to pull out this time of year. Renewal. Reset. Refresh. Revive. Rebirth. And I think we reach for them because they point at something meaningful. Something in us recognizes this season as permission to begin again. To look up from the life we have been managing and ask what we actually want to be moving towards.
So that is exactly what I want to ask you today. I’m a coach, asking questions is what I do.
I’m not asking you what everyone else has going on this spring. Because chances are you already know that. You have the kids’ schedules sorted. The family calendar is filling up. You may even have your pets’ vet appointments on your Google Calendar with reminders set. I know I do.
But here is the question I want you to listen to.
Do you have yourself scheduled? Do you know what you are moving towards?
This is the part that tends to get skipped. We are so good at holding everyone else’s season together that we forget to ask what season we are in.
What do we want to be stepping into? What do we actually want for ourselves in these next few months?
Here is what I have seen again and again in over 22 years of working with women: When we are not clear on what we want, that inner conversation can sound like noise. We second-guess. We overthink. We talk ourselves out of things before we even begin. But when we get even a little clear, the noise quiets down. We stop arguing with ourselves quite so much. That is self-trust. And clarity is what opens the door to it.
Spring is a transition. And you are a woman who knows how to move through transition. You have done it before, more times than you probably give yourself credit for. The wisdom is already in you. You do not need to manufacture certainty before you take a step. You just need to be willing to ask the question and then trust what comes up.
Clarity does not follow action. It leads it. You do not wait until everything lines up and then move forward. You get clear, even just a little, and the momentum follows. That is how it works every single time.
So this week, I want you to pull up your calendar. Look at what is on it. Notice whose life is represented there and whose is not. And then ask yourself a few honest questions.
What do I want to feel like by the time summer arrives? What have I been waiting for? The right moment to begin. What am I actually ready to step into?
You do not need a full plan. You just need a direction. Even the beginning of one.
That is enough. And so are you.
I am moving into this season right alongside you.
Until next Monday,
Meryl
